Budget airline IndiGo aims to attract premium fliers by introducing business class seats on twelve domestic routes from mid-November, marking a departure from an all-economy cabin.

IndiGo has announced that it will begin offering business class services on 12 routes, starting with the Delhi-Mumbai route. The airline will open business class bookings from August 6 for travel starting November 14, with fares starting at Rs 18,018. Additionally, IndiGo is set to launch its "Bluchip" loyalty program around September.

The carrier will be offering "specially curated" meals by hotelier Oberoi to its business class passengers. The business class seats will be navy blue, with a more luxurious feel and an adjustable headrest.

This move marks the latest in a series of strategic shifts by IndiGo, which includes introducing in-flight entertainment on a mobile app and expanding into under-served long-haul travel with their first widebody jet order.
