The CEO stated that India is the fastest-growing market for the Canadian coffee chain, Tim Hortons. The chain debuted with its first store in Delhi two years ago. "According to Tarun Jain, CEO of Tim Hortons India, the country is one of the fastest growing markets for the brand internationally. He mentioned that for those like them who joined the market two years ago, there is significant room for growth. Jain further stated that their growth numbers are noticeably higher. This statement was made during the launch of the brand's first store in Gujarat on Friday."
Tim Hortons opened its first store in August 2022, and it is now present in 14 cities across India. The company plans to add 30-40 new stores every year in India. The response to the brand has been positive, with long queues forming when new stores opened. The company aims not to chase a specific number of stores but instead to focus on selecting the right locations for profitability and brand value.
When asked about achieving 120 stores in India by 2026, Jain stated that they are conscious about selecting the right store for profitability and brand value rather than chasing a specific number. The cafe business in India was experiencing double-digit growth.
The Tim Hortons store that opened outside the domestic arrivals at Ahmedabad airport will remain open 24/7. This is the first store to offer vegetarian Timbits, which are small egg-less desserts. The store offers both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food options.
