French President Emmanuel Macron supports India's bid to host the 2036 Olympics: "I have great faith in your country."
Emmanuel Macron further explained how unity between the stakeholders that include sports organisations, local communities and the state remains important in successfully hosting the Games.
French President Emmanuel Macron strongly believes that India has the potential to host the 2036 Olympics. However, he also acknowledged that there will be fierce competition from other countries vying for the opportunity.
India, along with Egypt and several other countries, has submitted a bid to host the 2036 Olympics. In a recent interview with JioCinema, Macron discussed India's collaboration with France and the lessons that can be learned from the recently-concluded Paris Olympics.
"I have great faith in your country and its future, and in your ability to organize such events. The competition for hosting the Olympics is intense, and it should not be underestimated. I recall seven years ago when we competed with the US in Lausanne. Ultimately, we reached an agreement, and it became a great cooperation. Competition itself is excellent preparation," Macron stated.
