Red Alert in Ernakulam and Kottayam Districts as Heavy Rain Continues

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for the Ernakulam and Kottayam districts of Kerala. These areas are expected to receive heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours. The central and southern districts of Kerala have been experiencing intense rain, leading to waterlogging and traffic disruptions.

Ernakulam: Severe waterlogging has affected several areas, including the city’s IT hub, Infopark at Kakkanad. Kottayam: Houses in low-lying areas have been inundated due to continuous heavy rain. An orange alert has also been issued for Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, and Idukki districts.
