On Wednesday, the Supreme Court declined to grant bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. He had submitted a bail application in relation to the case filed by the CBI concerning the Delhi liquor policy.
The Supreme Court bench, which includes Justices Surya Kant and Ujjal Bhuyan, also served a notice to the CBI regarding another petition by Kejriwal in which he contests his arrest and requests bail.
The court has deferred interim bail for Kejriwal and has set the next hearing for August 23.
After his arrest challenge was turned down by the Delhi High Court, Kejriwal approached the Supreme Court.
Arvind Kejriwal, the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Chief Minister of Delhi, had previously been granted bail in the same case by the Enforcement Directorate.
