The coaches of the Ahmedabad-Mumbai Double Decker Express train detached near Surat.
Passengers on the Ahmedabad-Mumbai Double Decker train were startled this morning when two coaches of the train disconnected near Surat. The incident took place around 9 am near Gothan Railway Station in Surat’s Sayan area. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported and the train remained on the tracks. Passengers got off the train as it stopped, and the railway's technical team arrived to investigate why the coaches detached. It was found that the separation was due to a broken coupler.
Western Railway addressed the situation on social media, stating, “Two coaches of train number 12932 Ahmedabad – Mumbai Double Decker Exp parted near Gothangam Yard of Vadodara Division at 8:50 hrs. Restoration work is in progress; the rear and front portions have been brought to the platform. Up trains are operating through the loop line.”
The detachment has affected rail traffic, causing delays for trains traveling between Ahmedabad and Mumbai. The railway department has assured that the coaches will be reconnected and the train will continue its journey. However, this has led to delays, and passengers are expected to reach their destinations later than scheduled.
