On Friday, the Udaipur administration suspended internet services in the city for 24 hours due to communal violence following an incident where a class 10 student was reportedly stabbed by another student at a government school. The police have detained the accused student.

The internet shutdown was a response to the law and order situation, as stated in the official notification from the administration. Udaipur's district collector, Arvind Poswal, has directed that all schools and colleges in the city remain closed on Saturday until further notice.

Describing the event as a "tragic incident," BJP MLA Phool Singh Meena said, "The situation in Udaipur has turned into a riot. We should raze the accused's house with a bulldozer to prevent such incidents. The government will act against those involved in the crime. This has caused an uproar in Udaipur similar to what we saw during the Kanhaiyalal murder case." In a conversation with India Today, Arvind Poswal mentioned, "The boy had some kidney complications, and expert doctors from private hospitals have been consulted."

Poswal also mentioned that the police have filed an FIR against unidentified individuals for the violence on Friday and that prohibitory orders are in place in the district.

"The internet has been partially shut down as a precaution," he added. Investigations into the stabbing are ongoing.
