As the nation waits for justice for the junior doctor who was raped and murdered at Kolkata's state-run RG Kar Medical College and Hospital last week, the Central Bureau of Investigation has taken over the case and initiated an investigation amidst the ongoing public outcry. In an exclusive interview with ABP News, the victim's parents talked about their daughter, PM Modi mentioning the incident in his Independence Day speech, and their anticipation for justice while the CBI looks into the matter.
The victim's parents were visibly emotional as they recounted the tragic night of August 9 when the incident occurred. They told ABP News that the last time they saw their daughter, they felt as though they had also lost their own lives. "Everything is over for us," they said.
As hundreds of medical professionals protest across the country against the murder of the doctor at the state-run hospital and demand punishment for the accused, as well as security assurance for other doctors and nurses, the victim's parents affirmed that they are not alone in their struggle, stating that "millions of people are with us".
