Narendra Modi's visit to Ukraine is expected to last about seven hours and involve a 10-hour train journey under tight security conditions.
Narendra Modi is set to visit Ukraine on Friday, marking his first visit to the country since the beginning of the conflict with Russia in 2022. The visit is expected to last around seven hours and will involve a 10-hour train journey under tight security. Although details of Modi’s program in Ukraine have not been publicly disclosed due to security protocols associated with traveling to an active war zone, the Prime Minister confirmed his visit, stating that it will be an “opportunity to deepen the India-Ukraine friendship.”
Modi expressed his intention to share perspectives on the peaceful resolution of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, stating, “As a friend and partner, we hope for an early return of peace and stability in the region.”
This visit comes shortly after Modi's two-day trip to Russia for the annual summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin. During the visit, Modi had an informal meeting with Putin and was honored with a dinner at Putin's country home in the suburb of Novo-Ogaryovo – an honor typically reserved for only a few visiting leaders.
