Now, amid all these alerts, district collectors and commissioners of municipal corporations in big cities have also been advised to be alert. Chief Secretary Rajkumar called a meeting at the State Emergency Operations Center following the forecast of heavy to heavy rains. In this meeting, the Chief Secretary directed the District Collectors and Municipal Commissioners connected through video conference besides the nodal officers of different departments to remain alert against the threat. Keeping in view the holy month of Shravan festivals in the state, the Chief Secretary urged to take special vigilance in the places where people are likely to gather in large numbers so that no accidents or mishaps occur due to heavy rains. In addition, all the in-charge secretaries were also instructed to be present in their district keeping in view the situation and provide necessary guidance to the administrative system when required. Departments like Animal Husbandry, Energy, Agriculture, Roads and Buildings, Health and Family Welfare, Panchayats, Urban Development Department, Irrigation, Sardar Sarovar Corporation, NDRF and Coast Guard etc. Its officials have also been instructed to take precautionary measures.
