The Gujarat police have filed a total of 7 First Information Reports (FIRs) under the newly enacted criminal law Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which came into effect on the same day. According to Gujarat Director General of Police (DGP) Vikas Sahay, four of these FIRs were registered in Gandhinagar, the state capital.

The first FIR was lodged at Sector 7 police station against Vishal Rajput (19), who allegedly obstructed the main entrance of the Sector-11 State Transport bus depot with his snacks handcart.
