In a startling incident, a flyover slab collapsed onto a moving vehicle in Mumbai's Andheri area on Thursday around 3:20 p.m. The collapse occurred on the Western Express Highway near Gundavali Metro Station. Fortunately, the driver of the vehicle was unharmed as the slab landed on the car's bonnet.
Emergency response teams, including the Mumbai Fire Brigade, Police, and ward staff, quickly arrived at the scene, and the area has been cordoned off. The cause of the collapse is currently under investigation.
The Mumbai Congress highlighted the urgency of inspecting all infrastructure projects in the city. Activist Zoru Bhathena shared a photo of the incident, urging for immediate action and awareness.
