Meet Vedangi Kulkarni: The Record-Breaking Cyclist Ready for Another Global Ride
Vedangi Kulkarni, the youngest woman to cycle around the world at 19, is gearing up for another record-breaking ride. She plans to surpass her previous journey of 29,000 km completed in 159 days.
In 2019, Vedangi Kulkarni achieved an extraordinary feat by cycling around the world, covering 29,000 kilometers in just 159 days, and becoming the youngest woman to do so at the age of 19. Despite her incredible achievement, Kulkarni felt she could have completed the journey faster. Her ride was fraught with challenges, including food poisoning in Australia, a grizzly bear encounter in Canada, and a mugging in Spain that left her concussed.
Reflecting on her journey, Kulkarni felt a mix of pride and the sense that something was still missing. Now at 25, she is preparing to embark on the ambitious journey once again, driven by her evolved relationship with adventure and a newfound sense of fun. "Six years ago, I was just a teenager and my reasons for doing it were very different. My relationship with adventure has grown in a positive way over the last few years. I started having more fun with it. Then again, I don’t think you can ever be ready to do something of this sort. I just felt it was time to have another go," she shares.
Kulkarni's determination and adventurous spirit continue to inspire, as she sets out to push her limits and redefine what is possible.
