Recently, three shows debuted on Netflix with perfect ratings, giving viewers great new options for weekend entertainment.
1. Supacell:
Created by Rapman, known for the 2019 hit film Blue Story, Supacell brings the superhero concept to South London. The show features familiar faces such as Tosin Cole from Doctor Who and Adelayo Adedayo from The Responder. The plot revolves around a group of people in South London who discovers they have superpowers, and a man's mission to unite them to save the woman he loves. Viewers and Jay Z have praised the show, and critics from The Evening Standard and Variety have given it rave reviews.
2. Savage Beauty:
Savage Beauty, a South African drama, gained instant popularity with viewers and critics when the first series premiered on Netflix in 2022.
It follows a woman seeking revenge for a tragic past, who infiltrates a powerful family running a global beauty empire. The second series, released on June 28, is also receiving positive feedback from critics and viewers, with Decider and fans praising its production and engaging storyline.
3. The Mole:
The Mole, a reboot of a US game show that originally aired from 2001-2008, has returned for its second season on Netflix. In the show, 12 contestants take on challenges to build a prize pot, with one of them acting as a "mole" to sabotage their efforts. The last contestant standing must expose the mole to win the cash prize. Even though the series is being released weekly, it's already garnering great reviews, with Decider and IndieWire praising its challenges and gameplay.
