IndiGo's CEO Pieter Elbers announced that the airline will receive its first widebody Airbus A350 aircraft by 2027 during a conference call on April 30.

The exact configuration of the aircraft will be finalised at a later stage, and the deliveries will begin in 2027," Elbers said during the conference call.

IndiGo purchased widebody aircrafts as Indian market is underrepresented and underserved, according to the CEO.

To tap into the untapped Indian international market, IndiGo has ordered 30 Airbus jets in addition to their current range, according to Elbers.

He added that IndiGo order for widebody planes will help in achieving the Indian government's vision of making India a global aviation hub.
